Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Visions At Home Physical Therapy a home health agency?
We are not a Home Health Agency. Home Health Services are covered by Medicare Part A. We are an Outpatient Clinic. Our services are covered by Medicare Part B. Medicare will not pay for Part A and Part B Services at the same time. If you currently have a Home Health Nurse or Aide coming to your home, we will not be able provide services for you until your Home Health Services have ended. You do not have to be Homebound to receive outpatient physical therapy services in the privacy of your home. The homebound requirement only applies to Home Health Agencies. Please let us know if you are currently receiving or have recently received Home Health Services, so we can verify that they have discharged you from their services.
  • Do I have to be homebound to receive outpatient physical therapy at home from Visions At Home Physical Therapy?
No! We will bring professional and compassionate care to the convenience of your home for the same cost as going to the outpatient clinic. Medicare and other insurances have always allowed for outpatient physical therapy to be provided in the home. You do not have to be homebound to receive outpatient physical therapy in your home which is a requirement for Home Health Agencies. Bottom Line: We provide the best physical therapy model to help seniors attain their maximum potential and remain active and safe in their homes.
  • Where can I receive outpatient physical therapy services from Visions At Home Physical Therapy?
At Visions At Home Physical therapy, receiving outpatient physical therapy services is both convenient and personalized because we bring the outpatient clinic to your home, assisted living facility or adult day care center. Our mobile clinic is designed to cater to patients who prefer or require therapy in the comfort of their own residence. This approach eliminates the need for travel, making it easier for you to stick to your rehabilitation plan. Our licensed physical therapists provide comprehensive evaluations, create customized treatment plans, and deliver effective therapy sessions right at your doorstep. To get started, you can contact us to schedule an appointment, and we will bring the necessary equipment and expertise to meet your therapeutic needs at home.
  • What are the advantages of receiving physical therapy at home versus in a clinic?
Your risk of getting Covid-19 is greatly reduced. Less stress because you are more comfortable at home. One-on-one treatment sessions with a licensed therapist and not a PT Aide. Avoid the dangers of driving to the clinic during bad weather conditions. Safer for those with mobility problems or a medical condition that makes leaving home difficult. Older patients can avoid the stress of driving or getting a ride to the clinic 2-3 times a week. Your therapist can witness first-hand the challenges you encounter at home so they can be properly addressed (Because we actually see your home, we can better tailor your daily goals to your physical environment). Patients receive 100% undivided attention from the same therapist every time at home. You are taught home exercise programs in the same environment that you will be conducting them in after your therapy program has ended.
  • How do I know if I need physical therapy at home?
Deciding whether you need Physical Therapy at home can depend on several factors related to your health and personal circumstances. At Visions At Home Physical Therapy, we specialize in bringing outpatient physical therapy directly to your home, ensuring you receive the care you need in a convenient and comfortable setting. Here are some signs that home physical therapy might be appropriate for you: Mobility Issues: If you have difficulty walking, climbing stairs, or moving around your home, a home physical therapy program can help you regain independence and improve your mobility. Recent Surgery or Injury: Post-operative care often requires targeted rehabilitation exercises that can be effectively carried out at home. This is particularly crucial for surgeries involving joints, muscles, or bones. Chronic Pain: Conditions such as arthritis, back pain, or fibromyalgia can make it hard to visit a clinic regularly. Home-based therapy can help manage pain and improve your quality of life. Chronic Conditions and Disability: If you suffer from long-term conditions like stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, or Parkinson’s disease, continuous at-home therapy can aid significantly in managing your symptoms and enhancing functionality. Fall Risk: Individuals who are at a high risk of falling benefit greatly from home-based therapy, where therapists can evaluate and modify your living environment to make it safer. Post-Hospitalization: If you've recently been discharged from the hospital, at-home physical therapy can facilitate a smoother and faster recovery without the fatigue of traveling to a clinic. Visions At Home Physical Therapy is dedicated to delivering personalized physical therapy services that cater to your specific needs, ensuring you get the best possible care right in the comfort of your home. If you think you might benefit from our services, please reach out to us for a consultation.
